Borrowed Applause
Your comeback needs a crowd. His love life needs a better headline. Pretending to date tennis's favorite showman would be easier if he stopped remembering your best shots.
After two seasons away, you have earned your place in qualifying and enough savings for one summer back on tour. The last distraction you need is Rafe Calder, the tennis star who remembers your serve and has just suggested a very public lie. A few appearances together could give you control of the comeback story and give him a break from questions about his newly engaged ex. Rafe makes the arrangement tempting: he is funny, generous with his attention, and far too convincing when he finds you in a crowd. But you want a career that belongs to you, and he has plans for the end of summer he hasn't told the cameras.
