Reading & turns
What is a turn?
A turn is one request for the next response in your story. Choose an action or type your own, and the story continues around you. Each request uses one turn.
Regenerate and Continue also use one turn each. Rereading what’s already written uses no turns.
How many free turns do I get?
You get 30 free turns per account to try ruind, shared across all your stories. This is a one-time allowance; it doesn’t reset each day. No payment card is needed to start.
After your first 5 choices or typed replies, we ask for your email to keep reading. We’ll send you a sign-in link so you can keep your stories. You don’t need a password.
Why does ruind say I already have an account?
We use a simple browser fingerprint to prevent repeat accounts from claiming more free turns. Sign in with the email you used before to keep your stories and turns.
If you share a device, or you hadn’t added an email yet, contact us and we’ll help. The fingerprint is stored as a protected hash and is never used to sign you in.
Before you add an email, a brief browser check also runs in the background when you chat. Registered readers don’t need this check.
Can I use my turns across different stories?
Yes. Your turns belong to your account. Use them on any story, and come back to your other stories whenever you like. Every story uses one turn per response.
Where can I see how many turns I have left?
Open Settings → Turns & plan to see your allowance and purchased turns. You can also see your available total in the story’s info sheet.
Buying more turns
Do I have to subscribe?
No. You can buy 30 turns for $2 or 300 turns for $10 whenever you want. These are one-time purchases, with no recurring charge. All prices are in US dollars.
Add your email before buying so your purchase stays with your account.
Do purchased turns expire?
No. Purchased turns stay in your account until you use them. They carry over from day to day and stay yours if you start or cancel a subscription.
Which turns get used first?
If you subscribe, your daily turns are used first. After those run out, ruind automatically uses any purchased turns you have left. Otherwise, your free turns are used before your purchased turns.
Buying a pack doesn’t start, renew, or change a subscription.
Subscriptions & daily turns
What does a subscription include?
Premium gives you 200 turns a day across all stories for $10 a month or $80 a year, billed in US dollars. Both plans have the same daily allowance. Yearly billing saves $40 compared with twelve monthly payments.
Subscribers can also branch a story from an earlier response to explore another choice. Buying turn packs alone doesn’t include branching.
What happens if I use all my daily turns?
If you have purchased turns, you can keep reading with those. If you’ve used them all, you can buy another pack or wait for your daily turns to reset. Your story will be there when you come back.
When do daily turns reset? Do unused turns roll over?
Your subscription allowance resets to 200 turns each day at midnight UTC.
Unused daily turns don’t roll over. Purchased turns do, and the daily reset never removes them.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Go to Settings → Manage billing to cancel. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then it stops renewing.
Your stories and any unused purchased turns stay in your account.
Refunds are covered in our refund and cancellation policy.
When something goes wrong
Does a failed response use a turn?
A turn is counted when your request is accepted, so it can still be used if the response fails. If that happens, email [email protected] with the story name and roughly when it happened so we can look into it.
I paid, but my turns haven’t appeared. What should I do?
Check that you’re signed in with the email you used to buy them, then refresh the page. If your turns are still missing, email [email protected] with your receipt. You don’t need to buy the pack again.
